I Don’t Know What to Do With an Unexpected Pregnancy: A Faith-Based Guide
Facing an unexpected pregnancy can feel overwhelming, frightening, and uncertain. You may feel lost, unsure about the future, or unsure of what decision to make. I know exactly how that feels — when I was 15, I faced an unexpected pregnancy and chose life through adoption. Today, I want to share how God transformed my life and how He can guide you too.
You Are Not Alone
It’s normal to feel scared, anxious, or unsure. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, and unexpected situations can be incredibly challenging. God’s love is constant, and there are people, communities, and resources ready to support you every step of the way.
My Story: Choosing Life at 15
At 15, I faced an unexpected pregnancy and did not have a good support system. I was scared, alone and afraid of how I would be able to take care of a baby. I knew my baby was real and couldn't go through with an abortion, although I was pressured to abort by many. I faced homelessness, loneliness and tremendous amounts of fear. I chose life and God made a way by bringing a stranger into my life to show me how to love Jesus. Through finding faith, prayer and faithful guidance, I was able to deliver a healthy baby and chose adoption.
That decision changed my life. God worked in ways I never could have imagined — providing healing, purpose, and direction. My experience taught me that even in the hardest moments, God makes a way to choose life. I am now here to help others that face uncertainty, pain, trauma and need the same guidance to Jesus that I did.
Take a Breath (I know, easier said than done when you think your life is falling apart), then seek Guidance
You don’t have to make all the decisions immediately. Take time to research, visit pregnancy centers (I would encourage centers that support life), seek counsel from trusted mentors, faith leaders, or Christian counselors who can provide perspective rooted in love and understanding. What may feel impossible to you now, can become possible with the help from God. With God all things are possible.
Explore Your Options With Support
There are resources and communities ready to help you navigate an unexpected pregnancy:
Supportive Family & Friends: Loved ones can provide emotional, practical, and financial support.
Faith-Based Counseling: Catholic and Christian life coaching can guide your decisions with hope and clarity.
Medical & Practical Care: Access prenatal care, counseling, and community programs to ensure your health and well-being. Many non-profits provide free services for people that have low income.
Pro-Life Support Services: Organizations exist to help women facing unexpected pregnancies, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical resources. I would encourage you to avoid Planned Parenthood, from my experience they often push abortion and in my case refused to let me see my ultrasound until I chose if I wanted to abort. Planned Parenthood and other centers that do abortions can financially profit off of body parts from your baby. Please do research before going to a center.
Faith and Hope in Difficult Times
Prayer, reflection, and leaning on God (even if it is your very first time!) can bring peace, comfort and clarity to your confusing situation. Scripture, mentorship, and connecting with Christian communities can remind you that you are never alone — even in moments of fear and uncertainty.

Even in moments of fear or uncertainty, hope exists. God’s love is unwavering, and there are compassionate people ready to support you. Like my story shows, it’s possible to choose life, experience healing, and see God make a way even in the hardest situations.
